Sonakshi inspires college students to train in self-defence

It's the age of innovative film promotions. If Aamir Khan showed the way, the rest followed. Sonakshi Sinha who stars in the title role of AR Murugudoss's Akira kick-started a self-defence class in NM College, Mumbai. The college has also decided to run a self-defence workshop on its campus.

Sonakshi chatted with students on the importance of self-defence training. She exchanged some tips and basic training programmes, which should be included in the workshops.

Over to Sonakshi, "It is so cool that NM college has decided introduce a self defence workshop. It’s one small step for us and a big step for everybody. I am thrilled that my film Akira has been able to make a difference and urged them in this direction.”

Adds an N M College professor, “The fact that Sonakshi is portrayed as a strong woman who stands up for herself in Akira has served as an inspiration for many of our students. We are very happy to announce that we have decided to start self-defence workshops very soon and we are excited that we were able to get Sonakshi Akira Sinha to start this campaign.”
