Whistling Woods International (WWI) celebrated its 9th Annual
Convocation of its 16th and 17th graduating batches at St. Andrews
auditorium, Mumbai on July 18. The programme saw legendary singer Lata
Mangeshkar and veteran actor Vinod Khanna gracing the occasion.
Lataji and Khanna were conferred with the ‘Whistling Woods Maestro Award,’ for their contribution to Indian cinema. Ajay Bijli, Managing Director and Chairman, PVR Ltd, addressed the students with an inspiring speech.
Aishwarya Majmudar of Kaanchi and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo fame impressed singing some classic Lata numbers. Also present were film-maker Amol Gupte, Chairman, Adlabs, Manmohan Shetty and producer Rajkumar Barjatya, among others.
“With this graduating batch, we have accomplished ten successful years. It gives me immense pleasure to share that we have delivered on what we committed when we set out to start the institute in 2006. I wish that legendary personalities like Lataji, Vinod Khanna and industry stalwarts like Ajay Bijli, continue to inspire us to create more well-honed industry-ready professionals," said, producer-director Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, WWI.
