Sonam Kapoor who had the entire country rooting for her with her sensitive portrayal of Neerja Bhanot in Neerja, joined Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray to inaugurate the Neerja Bhanot Chowk (junction) in Mumbai.
Located near Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, where the late air-hostess studied studied , the chowk named after the Pan AM 73 braveheart is a tribute to her valour in the face of adversity. Neerja sacrificed her life to save passengers on the ill-fated hijacked flight on September 5, 1986.
