Parineeti to attend the closing ceremony of World Cup Kabaddi in Punjab

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra will grace the closing ceremony of the World Cup Kabaddi to be held at the Jalalabad Stadium in the Fazilka district in Punjab on November 17. While the opening and closing ceremonies of the previous editions were attended by stars like Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh, this year, Parineeti's presence will be worth looking forward to in this year's closing ceremony. 

Punjabi artistes like Gurdas Maan, Harshdeep Kaur, Jassi Gill, Babbal Rai, Miss Pooja, Jaswinder Bhalla and Bal Mukund Sharma will also perform at the event. The tournament is organised by Punjab Sports Council in association with Ferriswheel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

Befikre to be premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival

Since the day the trailer of Aditya Chopra's comeback directorial venture Befikre was launched, the film has been making the right noises. And, now the premiere of the film will be held at the 13th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). Befikre set to release on December 9, will have its premiere on December 8 in Dubai. The romantic film starring Ranveer Singh and Vani Kapoor in the lead will be the red carpet gala of the festival’s celebrations on that day.The festival will be on between December 7 and 14.

Say Abdulhamid Juma, Chairman, DIFF, “The World Premiere of the eagerly anticipated Befikre from Yash Raj Films and directed by the incredibly talented Aditya Chopra following a hiatus of seven years is a major scoop for DIFF. This refreshing new film will appeal not just to the expatriate community but also to Arabs who have a strong affinity for Bollywood films.”

This will also be the fourth time that a film from Yash Raj Films will be premiered at DIFF. Earlier Kabul Express, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl were premiered at the prestigious film festival.   

Now, another first for Yash Raj's Befikre

Setting the trend for entertainment conversations in India, Twitter has launched the first-ever emoji for a Bollywood film. And Yash Raj Film’s Befikre starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor slated for release on December 9 is the lucky one.

From November 10, fans in India have been given an opportunity to join the conversation around the film and simply Tweet by using #UdeDilBefikre, #Befikre, #BefikreOn9th, #BefikreOn9thDec and #BeBefikre to use the specially designed emoji curated by Twitter. The emoji appears next to the hashtag in the Tweet and is designed like the Eiffel Tower of pink hearts, bringing alive the Parisian essence of the film.

Befikre directed by Aditya Chopra had its trailer launch at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Using Periscope, the Befikre team live-streamed the launch from Paris to give their fans back home in India an interactive, real-time experience and a chance to engage with the leading actors. More than 3000 fans participated in the conversation with Ranveer and Vaani using the hashtag #BefikreTrailer.

Befikre's trailer launch to be held at the Eiffel Tower

Actor Ranveer Singh is known to have a kind soul. His kindness has touched the lives of people in his staff often, helping them in multiple ways. One such person that Ranveer has encouraged is his hairstylist, Darshan Yewalekar. They worked together for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela and ever since, Darshan has become Ranveer’s preferred hair stylist. Over the course of this time, Darshan has been working towards setting up his salon. Ranveer has encouraged him and supported him in his endeavour to become independent.

Now, as Darshan’s salon opens its doors to customers, Ranveer made the inauguration  a special event with a popular live interaction on social media.  Set to open in Mumbai’s Bandra, Darshan is grateful for this superstar- friend’s support. "Because Ranveer is busy, I asked him if he could just tweet about the launch of my barbershop, D Shave. He replied 'Are you mad! I will do the opening.' Ranveer has been very supportive in my dream project. He always pushes me to outdo myself. I feel blessed to have him by my side,” said Darshan.

Says Ranveer, “Darshan has worked with me since Ram Leela and over time, I’ve begun to see a great evolution in his skills as a hair stylist. He is a natural talent. When Ranveer and Sanjay bonded over Sindhi food

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will see the trio coming together for the third time after Ram Leela and Bajrao Mastani. And guess what, soon after signing the film, Ranveer and Sanjay celebrated the occasion with some home-cooked Sindhi delicacies. Ranveer despite a busy schedule, was also part of all the major festivities including Ganpathi celebrations at Sanjay's house. Padmavati is based on Emperor Alauddin Khilji's love for Padmavati or Rani Padmini of Chittor. While Ranveer plays Alauddin, Deepika essays the character of Padmavati.

Alauddin, the second king of the Khilji dynasty, ruled between 1296 and 1316. History says that so besotted was he with Padmavati, that he attacked Chittor to win her. Says a source, "Ranveer will be seen in an avatar never seen before. Alauddin Khilji is a character that the director has wanted to work on for a long time. Ranveer is excited about the role, which promises to be his career's finest and is prepping for it in full swing." The film is set to hit the floors soon.

Ranveer-Rohit wins Big B's heart

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is never short of words when it comes to appreciating good work. And the latest to enter his good books are director Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh. 

Bachchan tweeted, "RanveerSingh and #Rohit Shetty .. how the heck did you do all this !!?? this #RanveerRohitShettyHitJodi," lauding the actor-director duo on their ad film Ranveer Ching Returns. The film is closing in on  9 million views on the web in about 9 days of its launch.

And Bachchan continues, “Stupendous,” including responding to people saying, “I am thinking how the 2 of them made this ad??” Ranveer reciprocates tweeting, "Kya batayen Sir paapi pet kya-kya karata hai insaan se!"
