Marathi lessons for Ajay from Kajol

Actor-director Ajay Devgn is ready for his upcoming movie Shivaay set to release this Diwali on October 28. Recently Ajay and his better-half Kajol were on the sets of a Marathi show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya on Zee Marathi to promote Shivaay.

Kajol tried to lighten up her hubby’s mood by teaching him Marathi. Just a few minutes before the shoot, Kajol went Live on her Facebook page so that all her fans could watch her pulling her husband's leg. She taught him the lines, “Chala Hawa Yeu Dya” and Ajay sportingly repeated the words. But the funny guy that he is, he got back at Kajol by saying “Aata Maazi Satakli” and they went to the shooting floor. The episode airs next week.

Pakistani actress Saba isn't making her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay

Amid the tension escalating between India and Pakistan over Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Uri and the threat by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to Pakistani artistes to leave India, a story started floating around that Ajay Devgn's Shivaay marks the Bollywood debut of popular Pakistani actress Saba Qamar.

However, the publicity team of Shivaay has strongly denied it. "There are media reports doing the rounds that Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is making her debut with Shivaay. However, as the official publicists of the film we would like to clarify that actress Saba Qamar or any other Pakistani actor/ actress is not a part of Shivaay," the statement read. Directed by Devgn, Shivaay slated for a Diwali release stars apart from the actor-director, Sayyeshaa Saigal and Polish actress Erika Kaar.

The Devgns and USA

Ajay and Kajol Devgn's trips to US cities New York, Dallas, Chicago and San Francisco for the promotions of their upcoming production Shivaay have been a success. The actors interacted with the American media, met some affluent Indian families at gala events and also visited the Google and Facebook headquarters. While Kajol does visit the US for shootings, Ajay was in USA after ten long years and their fans were thrilled to see the couple together. So much so, that Google had to hold a lottery for its employees to attend the talk hosted at their headquarters with Ajay and Kajol.

AIB's tweet on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and the repurcussions

Did Karan Johar ensure that the tweet by members of the All India Bakchod (AIB) on the number Bulleya from the former's Diwali release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was removed? AIB had tweeted taking a dig at the music director Pritam who has a history of facing charges of plagiarism. In Bulleya's case, there's a similarity with Papa Roach's Last Resort which was lapped up by AIB. But sources say that Karan himself called them up and asked them to remove the tweet. However the screenshot of the tweet before its removal says it all. The fact whether Karan did step in or not isn't clear, but going by the troublesome period he is going through over Ae Dil... (Kamaal R Khan's claim that he was paid Rs 25 lakh by Karan to criticise Ajay Devgan's Shivaay that clashes with Ae Dil...this Diwali), one feels sorry for the charismatic filmmaker.
Watch this space for more.

It's all about passion in Darkhaast from Shivaay

Darkhaast, the romantic track from Shivaay, featuring Ajay Devgn and Erika Kaar has passion and poignance in equal measure. Shot exquisitely against the Himalayan landscape, the song delves into some intimate moments between the film's lead couple. While the magic of the song will unfold when it breaks online on September 22 at 12 noon, sources say that lyricist Sayyeed Qaudri and music composer Mithoon had a tough task working on it. It is said that Ajay was clear that the lyrics had to be carefully chosen because it isn't just a song in the film. It is a track that captures the emotions and situation in which the couple are. It's a crucial part of the narrative because it takes the story forward in rhyme.

Forget Kamaal R Khan, the two releases provide for a cracker of a Diwali

Forget the controversies thanks to a rabble-rouser of the 'stature' of Kamaal R Khan who survives on malicious and inflammatory statements on the social media. But this Diwali from a movie-goer's point of view, would be one worth looking forward to.

Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clashes with actor-director Ajay Devgn's ambitious Shivaay. Well, you may not have a Khan in the picture (well, well we do have one though thankfully he isn't part of either of the two movies), but a Karan Johar or an Ajay Devgn is a force to reckon with in the industry. For Karan, he gets behind the camera for the second time without a Shah Rukh Khan, after Student of the Year (2012). A National Award winning actor like Ajay tries his luck as a director for the second time after a convoluted U Me Aur Hum (2008) that had Ajay starring as well with his better-half Kajol.

For both Karan and Ajay it's the phrase 'second time' that is common. But more than that, it's a Rs 200 crore revenue that trade pundits would be looking forward to. Apart from Sultan that has crossed the Rs. 300-crore-mark, we haven't had a big blockbuster even keeping in mind Akshay Kumar's Rustom that's on a high at the box-office.

Both Karan and Ajay haven't left anything unexplored to ensure their films rake in the moolah. If Karan has an ensemble cast comprising Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan, Ajay closed in on never-seen-before action sequences and picturesque locales of the Balkan mountains, Uttarakhand and Hyderabad. In terms of locales, Karan cannot be ignored either, as he shot his film in London, Paris, Vienna apart from portions in Rajasthan and Mumbai.

Not much about the story lines of the two films are known, but Karan's film looks to be an emotional drama, while Ajay would shuttle between emotion and action. For film buffs, it couldn't have been a more cracker of a Diwali. The Ranbir-Ash on-screen chemistry is already the talk-of-the-town.

The importance of the two big films from the business' point of view was always a given, but perhaps out of the blue, a catalyst like Kamaal R Khan has only pushed it a bit further out of the blue. However to expect two big names in the industry to fall back upon a NOBODY to create a buzz for their respective films would be like being unfair on both. Karan and Ajay are respected personalities having entertained the audiences over the years. Who has offered money to Kamaal is irrelevant, what is important is that the ones passionate about films are in for a treat this Diwali.

Forget Kamaal R Khan and let the buck stop here. He is becoming a household name for no achievement worth applauding. Let's focus on Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and hope they provide full-fledged entertainment and make this festive season a memorable one.

Ajay vs Karan: Sad turn of events, but let the truth come out

They say, it's tough to find true friends in the film industry. But still there are exceptions: Karan Johar-Kajol, Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty, Arjun Kapoor-Ranveer Singh, to mention a few. But even steadfast friends part ways when the ambitious person in them prevail over good sense.

Ajay and Karan may not have been great friends, but there's a common link between them and it's Kajol. On one hand, she is Ajay's better half but on the other, Karan and she are best buddies or BFFs. But thanks to one Kamaal R Khan, one would guess, there's some tension simmering. The irritant that KRK is, has revealed in an audio conversation with Ajay's business associate Kumar Mangat Pathak that Karan paid him Rs 25 lakh to tweet against Ajay's directorial venture Shivaay that clashes with Karan's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in Diwali. The link to the recorded audio: https://we.tl/yt5wEvNYRY.

It takes a lot to make a film and when untoward elements try to spoil your party, you wouldn't take things 'sportingly. Ajay not to anybody's surprise, has hit back with his official statement that reads: "I have been a part of the Indian film industry for the past 25 years and have been associated with over 100 films. My father was a professional action director and I have an emotional connection with this industry. It therefore pains me to see that people like Kamaal R Khan are holding the film industry to ransom by spreading negativity about films to extort money from producers. It is very sad that people from our own industry are supporting such elements and spoiling the ethos of the film industry. I would strongly demand that this be thoroughly investigated by competent authorities to clarify if Karan Johar was indeed involved in this."

The disclose by KRK is damaging enough to create a wall between the Devgns and Johars. One spares a thought for Kajol as she finds herself sandwiched between hubby and BFF. Ajay rightly says that the authenticity of Kamaal's claim needs to be probed. Quite justifiably, because the same KRK now does a U-turn and says it is Ajay who offered him money to criticise Ae Dil... and he never took any money from Karan. Seconding Ajay, one may add that such disturbing elements like KRK who has earlier made objectionable comments directed at even actresses should be punished in no uncertain terms. They ruin friendships and relationships just for some mileage.

We look forward to more developments on the Ajay vs Karan episode. Catchy headlines, inside stories and a lot more are in the pipeline. But most importantly, let the truth come out. And hopefully, both would act maturely to sort the issue out and not effect their cordial relations because of a troublemaker who only wants cheap publicity and nothing else.
