If Aamir Khan can experiment with his physique to look the character in Dangal, Vivek Oberoi is not to be left far behind. The actor who will play former underworld don Muthappa Rai in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rai, will go for a complete body transformation for the movie.
Says Vivek who starts shooting from June onwards, “Yes I need to undergo a full body transformation as that is what the role requires. I will have to lose a significant amount of weight and then again gain for several portions.” As per sources Vivek will have to put on approximately 10 kg to resemble the present look of Muthappa Rai and later will be losing around 18kg to achieve a younger look.
And he adds, “I will be doing this under the supervision of a nutritionist and a certified trainer. As an actor I always give what a role requires and this role requires me to look a certain way.” Vivek will be short listing nutritionists and trainers to help him with his body transformation. He will start an intense workout regime and follow a special diet.
Elaborating on his physique for the film, Vivek says, “In a movie based on a real-life character, you need to look like the character so that the audiences relate to it even physically. I definitely don’t encourage this as a lifestyle example but I'm doing it for the film. But, yes I always advise people to stay healthy and stay fit.”
Rai will be shot in Mangalore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Dubai and London and will be released in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.
